Most discover the river tables and become fascinated by their shape and design. But they do not know the process and the materials used for its design. These types of tables are made by cabinetmaker craftsmen who put their knowledge and passion at the service of wood and who, through years of experience, innovated by mixing modern materials such as epoxy resin.

Epoxy resin is the main material of the famous river tables. The epoxy is coupled to the wooden boards. For wood there are several types of wood. In general, all types of wood species can be used with epoxy resin: oak, olive, spruce, elm, chestnut, walnut, etc...

The resin that is chosen will often be accompanied by coloring depending on the design of the table that has been thought out upstream, before its manufacture by the cabinetmaker, as for the river tables.

The epoxy can be colored or without. The colors vary it can be: light blue, dark blue, red, white, black, green, etc... They can be transparent, semi-transparent or opaque. Before the resin hardens, you can inlay all kinds of objects or materials into it in order to create your own design, such as pebbles and fallen leaves to remind you of the river in the woods, accompanied by a solid oak wooden board and light blue resin for the river and on the pebbles and transparent resin on the wood.

You have understood it, epoxy resin makes it possible to manufacture and design pretty river tables, but not only. As you can see in the image above, jewelry such as rings and rings can be designed based on resin coupled with wood.

Epoxy resins are often confused with polyurethane resins, because their operation and their use are very similar, but above all do not put silicone in the same family. We can also use acrylic paint with epoxy, polyurethane or dye to add an aesthetic touch to your production using a brush, in order to create color pigments.

The drying depends on the duration of the curing and the casting time of the epoxy. Because it is important to avoid leaving bubbles inside the resin, in order to have clean and homogeneous finishes.

There are several uses of epoxy such as varnish for coating or glue, but these characteristics will remain similar.

For example, for the manufacture of an epoxy river table, the thickness and the length of the table will determine the amount of resin, as well as the size of the molding and the underlayers that will be needed. Important elements to take into account the humidity level for a good drying of the future epoxy table.

It will be more resistant and will have better longevity capabilities than a polyester resin.
